Attended Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology.
Jason attended classes at the Boca Raton campus from 1986 until 1991. Switched major initially from Biomedical Technology to more theoretical Microbiology. Lots of emphasis was placed on chemistry, notably analytical chemistry.
Notable achievements:
- Directed Independent Study: Molecular Modeling (MNDO calculations run through the Internet on Georgia Tech’s mainframes)
- Directed Independent Study: Analytical Chemistry (Evaluation of Alumina chromatography packing material sponsored by Alcoa)
- American Chemical Society Member – Produced and performed “Chemical Magic Show” for local public schools in Boca, Lake Worth and Pompano to increase awareness about science. Designed pyrotechnic displays and staged visible, dramatic chemical reactions for promotion of the Science Department.
