Beekeeping

Jason is fascinated by bees. He keeps some hives on his property in Boca Raton.

Swarming native bees settled in an empty garbage can behind Jason’s house one summer. The first colony came and went, but when the current colony remained it was too close to an FPL junction box. Rather than letting the FPL workers kill the bees, Jason decided to move them instead.

After researching what that meant, to move the bees, Jason decided to get some guidance from local beekeepers, attending a beginners class on managing bees.

Since, Jason has helped them establish their home in safer, Langstroth design bee boxes. The colony has grown and produced some delicious honey. They even survived through Hurricane IRMA in their sturdy home unscathed.
